The city of Modesto has worked to improve it bicycling culture by improving its infrastructure, and gets to celebrate that on Bike to Work Day.
Bike to Work Day organizers counted over 20,000 people biking to work today in East Bay cities, an increase of thirty percent over the last five years.
Last night some 90 residents turned out for a community meeting where the Chicago Department of Transportation presented plans for short-term, forward-thinking improvements to the intersection that will make it safer for all road users.
Monday starts Bike Week in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. And Thursday, May 11, the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC) brags that "tens of thousands of regular and first-time Bay Area residents will bike to work for the 23rd Annual Bike to Work Day."
