The People’s Fare Hike Hearing
As New York City recovers from the second-ever subway shutdown, the value and vulnerability of our public transportation system is clearer than ever. What’s also clear is that the system cannot survive on endless fare hikes. But New Yorkers are facing the fourth fare hike since 2009.
On Tuesday, November 13th, the MTA will be host a public hearing seeking the public’s input on proposed fare hikes that will go in effect early next year. At 4pm, Transportation Alternatives will join other advocates and elected officials to discuss the need for our State Government to invest in transit instead.
