Meet up with T.A. Brooklyn-based volunteers as we plan grassroots advocacy and social events!

Brooklyn is fortunate to already have more than 100 miles of bike lanes, vast access to mass transit, and a strong base of livable streets advocates. However, none of it can be taken for granted; there are still many improvements needed borough wide. After a very active 2009, the Brooklyn Committee of Transportation Alternatives is a highly energized group, more than doubling its membership and diving into issues big and small to create a safer environment for all street users in Brooklyn.

Harnessing the revitalized spirit, the volunteer committee voted on key goals for 2010. Projects range from Bus Rapid Transit advocacy to fostering Community Board involvement and growing T.A. and Brooklyn Committee membership during the citywide May Bike Month. Other efforts include pushing for a Car Free Prospect Park, bringing new bike lanes to Brooklyn, advocating for bike racks on buses, and providing bike valet at the Celebrate Brooklyn summer arts series.
