The next 10 years will bring stunning change to the New York City and Northern New Jersey Waterfront. Never before have so many opportunities and challenges converged. 2010 will bring New York City’s first Comprehensive Waterfront Plan in a generation. Will this plan be adequate? How will we implement it? A world-class waterfront is an expensive but worth-while investment. How can we secure the necessary capital dollars to build it and maintain it? How can New York and New Jersey get its share of funding for the restoration and improvement of our neglected estuary?
These questions and more will be answered at the 2010 Waterfront Conference.
Featuring:
- 15 exciting breakout panels covering topics from Ecology & the Economy, to the Future of our Port, and Water Mass Transit.
- Morning AND evening harbor cruises
- And dozens of distinguished speakers including: Mayor Michael Bloomberg (tentative), Bob Steel (NYCEDC), Amanda Burden (NYC City Planning), Cas Holloway (NYCDEP), Seth Pinsky (NYCEDC), Col. John Boulé (USACOE), Capt. Linda Fagan (Coast Guard), Bob Martin (NJDEP), Chris Ward (Port Authority), authors Paul Greenberg and Bill McKibben, and many, many more!
The Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance is an alliance of civic groups and organizations with a mission to transform the New York and New Jersey harbor and waterways to make them clean and accessible, a vibrant place to play, learn and work, with great parks, great jobs and great transportation for all.
