This Week: UWS Cycle Tracks, High Bridge Rehab, Bike Month
This week's schedule is chock-a-block with discussions on city bike and pedestrian facilities, past, present and future. If you need more, there are lots of great Bike Month NYC events happening daily.
- Tuesday: Manhattan Community Board 7 hears a presentation from NYCDOT on a redesign for Columbus Avenue. Word has it that cycle tracks will be installed in phases. 6:30 p.m.
- Wednesday: Join the Upper West Side Streets Renaissance for a tour of Manhattan bike infrastructure, new and old. 5:30 p.m. Also Wednesday: A second community meeting to gather input on Inwood's Sherman Creek Esplanade. 7 p.m.
- Thursday: The Parks Department and the Department of Design and Construction will host a High Bridge restoration meeting on the Bronx side of the bridge. Read all about it in the Daily News. 6 p.m.
- Saturday: Pratt hosts a day of workshops and seminars in celebration of 50 years of community-based planning. 9:30 a.m. Also Saturday: Museum of the City of New York curator Phil Patton offers a tour of "Cars, Culture and the City." 1 p.m.
