Walk21NYC exists to champion the development of healthy, sustainable and efficient communities where people choose to walk. The Walk21 Conference series creates opportunities for the world’s best urban planners, leaders and visionaries to exchange information and ideas as we work toward a world where people choose and are able to walk as a way to travel, to be healthy and to relax.

This year Walk21 will partner with the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP) as it hosts its annual professional development seminar. APBP PDS sessions will be held every afternoon, and are open to all. APBP is the leading professional association for bicycle and pedestrian planners in the U.S., and APBP’s participation in the Walk21NYC conference has enriched the program. APBP has organized several bicycle oriented sessions to bridge the gap between the pedestrian and bicycle planning worlds and to spotlight the New York City bicycle program, which has garnered nationwide media attention.
