Notes
Exhibition will be on display Friday, October 2, through Friday, December 4.

The exhibit Re-Imagining Cities: Urban Design after the Age of Oil stretches thinking about both sustainability and livability even further by boldly considering strategies from around the world. We New Yorkers can be provincial at times — this exhibition gives us an opportunity to glimpse what the rest of the world is doing in response to climate change and the complex movement toward increased urbanization. Join MAS for the opening reception, including a glass of local wine and sampling of canapés made from local foods.

The exhibition accompanied the 2008 symposium of the same name at the University of Pennsylvania. It is meant to inform viewers of the different scales of intervention available to help us re-think how we inhabit urban areas in a world with fewer fossil fuels and increasing climate change. Sponsored by the Penn Institute for Urban Research with support from The Rockefeller Foundation. Co-sponsored by PennDesign.
