ContextSensitiveSolutions.org is pleased to present a Forum on Livability in partnership with the Office of the Secretary of Transportation (OST), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The free event, held in webinar format, will be on Thursday, September 24, 2009, from 2:00 ? 3:30 PM EST. The Forum on Livability will be the first national?scale opportunity for dialogue with some of the key U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) leaders and staff engaged in the new transportation and livability initiatives of the Obama administration.
During the Forum, new information will be presented about the Partnership for Sustainable Communities, announced on June 16, 2009 by the USDOT, the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The partnership was formed to help American families in all communities – rural, suburban and urban – gain better access to affordable housing, more transportation options, and lower transportation costs. The three agencies will work together to ensure that these housing and transportation goals are met while simultaneously protecting the environment, promoting equitable development, and helping to address the challenges of climate change.
