I know this isn't directly relevant, but there's more action just a block away: three bulbouts and a pedestrian refuge island, which I believe are related to the Downtown Brooklyn Traffic Calming plan, are under construction at 4th Avenue and Union Street. As a twice-daily user of the intersection and subway station, I'm very pleased.

DOT recently restriped the Sixth Ave & Eighth Avenue lanes in Manhattan so they are more visible and match new bike lane design standards.

The DOT workers should grab lunch from Aunt Suzie's. It would be so appropriate.
