GREEN TRANSPORTATION WORKSHOP, sponsored by Sierra Club Northeast Transportation Committee to map out and begin implementing the Club's vision for green transportation in the Northeastern US.

Ever thought that our transportation system could be designed more efficiently and pollute less? Thought about the carbon footprint of our dependence on automobiles? Looking for a way to take action on greener transportation choices or even find a network of others doing so?

The Sierra Club Northeast Regional Activist Network is hosting a special workshop for new and experienced Sierra Club activists to map out the Club's vision for green transportation in the Northeastern United States.

Participants will:

  • Learn about our laws and policies that shape our current transportation system
  • Work in groups to draw vision maps for regional transportation choices
  • Find out about federal and state opportunities to move our transportation system into the 21st Century
  • Plan a coordinated campaign to take action over the next year

We are looking for 5 participants from each Northeastern Sierra Club Chapter (PA, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, ME) to work together over the next year on Greening our 21st Century Transportation.

Sunday's session will be devoted to federal policy opportunities, state outcomes, tasks, timeline and assignments
