On June 4th, Matthew Modine and friends of Bicycle for a Day will celebrate biking in New York. Bicycle for a Day will be honoring Paul Steely White, Executive Director of Transportation Alternatives and Brendt Barbur, Director of Bicycle Film Festival. Profits from ticket sales of this event will be donated to SOLAR ONE towards the purchase of sixty bike racks for the new SOLAR TWO building -- The First Carbon-Neutral, Net-Zero Energy Building in New York City (begins construction in November, 2009).
The goal of Bicycle for a Day is to help empower individuals with tools they can use in their everyday lives to improve and repair our environment and personal health. There are hundreds of things each of us can do everyday that will have an immediate, positive impact on the environment. Bicycling is one.
