Given the upcoming reauthorization of legislation governing federal surface transportation spending, policymakers have an opportunity to invest strategically in mass transit and plan for inter-modal and regional connections that benefit metropolitan regions. The current financing crisis demands strong leadership to address problems of aging infrastructure, traffic congestion, and environmental pollution. Transportation experts will explore these challenges, while analyzing the status of major projects and examining the pivotal role Moynihan Station can play in a reconfigured rail network.
Moderator: Kate Slevin, director, Tri-State Transportation Campaign.
Panelists: Susan Bass Levin, deputy executive director, Port Authority; Janette Sadik-Khan, commissioner, NYC Department of Transportation; Jeffrey Zupan, senior transportation fellow, Regional Plan Association; Martin Robins, founding director, Voorhees Transportation Center, Rutgers University.
