Dave: "I worked with some of the clowns in our state government ... they are quite thin skinned and anxious about being taken seriously."

Sold! How much will the T-shirt cost? I might take the coffee mug too. Make sure it's lead-free glaze.

#5 Charles Komanoff- I agree that more focused, goal specific advocacy should be part of an overall plan, but I do think this project has merit. I worked with some of the clowns in our state government, and whereas considered legislation is never high on their agenda, they are quite thin skinned and anxious about being taken seriously. Pushing for legislative goals will only get you so far with that group. Pointing out that they are inconsequential boobs might have more of an effect.

I'm going to guess that ridiculously gerrymandered, amorphous pink area is the Senator's district? I think I'm in it, but it's not easy to tell. Anyway, it's encouraging to see that the B1 which blasts past my living room every few minutes seems to be one of the few lines spared from the axe.

Call me the skunk at the garden party, but I don't see the value in this kind of frat-party send-up. And, identity politics being what they are, it wouldn't surprise me if it set off a round of backlash, giving the Fare Hike Four an excuse to keep ducking the issues.

Were I deep in this fight, I would be seeking ways to put pressure on the FH4 and other legislators. The Transit Riders to Diaz demonstration last Thursday should be replicated in the other three districts. Opposing candidacies for 2010 should be announced. How about actions at City Hall and Sens. Schumer's and Gillebrand's offices? Has El Diario called out Monserrate, Espada and Diaz? Doubtless there are other and better ideas.

Yes, I know this is a blog and not an advocacy outfit. I think this is a cheap shot and a poor tactic.

Never has an image fit words so well. Thanks, Carly.

Aaron, I'm expecting a branded travel mug with a matching t-shirt jammed inside of it and a $1,002.50 Metro Card, so I can pay for a single-ride come June.
