On a street dense with pedestrians, the guy stepped out of a running vehicle without making absolutely sure it wasn't going to start moving. How on earth is that not obviously prosecutable? How is it not more obviously prosecutable than the crane collapse that Morgenthau chose to file charges over?

All that has been said before but it bears repeating.

Kudos to whoever (Cap'n Transit?) first suggested that in the coming DA election, correcting this kind of car-crime blindness needs to become a campaign issue.

Ms. Cheung's comments strike a chord in my heart. I pledge my support to honor the memory of Hayley. The DA cannot sit still, while precious children are killed. A Grand Jury should be convened to investigate this tragic situation now.
