The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council is very pleased to announce that U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at NYMTC's Annual Meeting. In addition to being the first time a USDOT Secretary has spoken at a NYMTC meeting, it is also currently scheduled to be the Secretary’s first public speaking engagement in New York since his appointment.

Also on the agenda will be the announcement of a set of strategic transportation investments which complete an overall vision for the region's future. Previously, the Council members have announced their shared regional goals and their growth vision for the region.
