Please join Transportation Alternatives and residents of North Brooklyn for a Kent Avenue Bike Lane day of action. Take a social bike ride along the Kent Avenue bike lane, with like-minded livable streets advocates, to visit the district offices of your elected officials to thank them for this investment in green transportation in your neighborhood.

Hundreds have written letters and attended community board meetings to show support for a safer Kent Avenue today and a fully-wrought Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway in the future. But we’re not out of the woods yet. Many North Brooklyn elected officials continue to waffle on this critical project, and we need to show them how deeply their constituents want to see Kent Avenue made safer for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Nothing makes a bigger impression than showing up in person. Take a half-day at work or join us on your day off this Tuesday to make the case. We’ll ride as a group to the offices of four key elected officials, taking the time to register our support for the Kent Avenue bike lane at each one. After, we’ll end up at the Levee Bar at North 3rd Street and Berry Street in Williamsburg to unwind and follow up our Day of Action with a few handwritten letters. If you can’t take the day off, join us at the Levee after 5 pm.
