Yesterday’s nutjob said she believed ALL bicycles, messengers and couriers, should be banned from the island of Manhattan, because they get in the way of commerce. She allowed a concession for recreational riders in Central Park only (clearly she doesn’t walk in Central Park, since cyclists there are far from appreciated).

The part I liked best was, despite absolutely zero acknowledgment from any of the councilmembers, she continued to answer questions posed to the REBNY representatives on her panel, with her default answer, “No bicycles in the City of Commerce!”
