If cars were required to have license plates we might be able to make citizen’s arrests using our ubiquitous cellphone cameras. Oh wait, they already have license plates and the NYPD/DA does nothing against speeding and reckless drivers, what makes you think a 'citizens' arrest will be more successful for bicycles with license plates which you will hardly be able to read anyway. With increasing heavy traffic on streets and avenues– with and/or without bike lanes– more and more brazen drivers are speeding down avenues, especially in Manhattan. And not only taxi drivers! I wish someone would take responsibility for getting dangerous drivers off our streets.
