This Continuing Legal Education (CLE) course will provide an overview of New York City’s clean/alternative fuel vehicle programs from the 1990s to date. Panelists will explore the problems associated with air pollution in New York City and evaluate the efforts undertaken by local, state and federal governments, as well as the private sector, to improve air quality. The course will include a discussion of New York City programs for clean fuel vehicles as well as possible new federal initiatives under the Obama administration. The course will conclude with a presentation of recent litigation surrounding the regulation of vehicle emissions.
