		<description>As your picture shows, the protected bike also provides an island of protection for peds crossing the street. In addition, it reduces the number of car lanes we have to cross. I like this on Ninth Ave. and I&#039;ll probably like it on Eighth as well. One more example of bike and ped interests converging.</description>
