		<description>Wow!!  That story about the Erie Canal was great.  It&#039;s cool to hear industry rediscovering it but I also did know that it had been nearly forgotten about by industry in the first place.  

I never realized how efficient it was to move goods &quot;over ground&quot; using a canal.  I guess I shouldn&#039;t be a surprised since river barges are still a highly viable means of shipping in Europe where fuel is very expensive.</description>

		<description>Those shippers should get their goods though the Canal quick.  It shuts down for the season (i.e. they need to raise the moving dams on the Mohawk River to prevent ice damage) on the Nov. 15th.</description>
