That story about the Erie Canal was great. It's cool to hear industry rediscovering it but I also did know that it had been nearly forgotten about by industry in the first place. I never realized how efficient it was to move goods "over ground" using a canal. I guess I shouldn't be a surprised since river barges are still a highly viable means of shipping in Europe where fuel is very expensive. Wow!! That story about the Erie Canal was great.
