Support the work of the Brooklyn Volunteer Lawyers Project and honor the memory of a remarkable young woman.
On Thursday, June 9, 2005, we suffered the tragic, untimely loss of Elizabeth Kasulis Padilla, a gifted attorney and Brooklynite who served her community through her work at the Volunteer Lawyers Project. Always an active person, Liz was riding her bicycle to work when she was killed in a road accident. Her absence continues to weigh heavily on those who knew and loved her, yet she continues to inspire us through her legacy of fun, generosity, and kindness.
Every year the Volunteer Lawyers Project honors Liz's memory with its annual 5K run in Prospect Park to raise funds to support the organization and its mission that was so central to her life and work.
