Re-read the short piece about CNN's report. It essentially confirms what President Bush said yesterday. He wasn't going to ask people to conserve fuel. He figures they're smart enough to do it on their own. In this corner, CNN and W.

I don't know. . .intelligent transit agencies will be doing everything they can to get off oil, and that means turning to electricity -- which largely comes from coal in the US.

A lot of people don't realize that public transit is a threat to the coal industry as well. Coal prospers from sprawl. Public transit will make living in town more attractive.
