This series of walking tours stresses renewal of South Bronx neighborhoods in response to basic urban geography. We’ll enter Morrisania near once desolate Charlotte St., where Carter and Reagan promised renewal. We’ll observe various forms of industrial, housing and parkland redevelopment and examine the impact of the Cross Bronx Expressway on the South Bronx. Leader: Jack Eichenbaum, urban geographer.
