A charrette is a community-led workshop, in which people who live in and know about a neighborhood talk to a group of professional designers about their visions for their area. The results can be something as simple as a call for more benches or as comprehensive as a master plan for a whole neighborhood. Over the summer, the Upper West Side Streets Renaissance will be hosting this event to give Upper West Siders an unprecedented opportunity to take a hand in the area’s future. Come out and be heard.
