3rd Annual Greenway Summit

The Greenway Summit will bring together over one hundred invited community leaders, advocates, government employees, elected officials and planners and users to discuss a wide array of greenway issues. Break-out sessions will include:

  • Greenways & Community Development: Lessons from the Bronx
  • Queens Cranks it Up: Greenway Coalition Building
  • Maintenance & Access: Harlem River Park
  • Funding: A Brooklyn Greenway Perspective
  • Re-imagining Urban Greenways: Best Practices from the US and Abroad

Transportation Alternatives has planned the 2008 NYC Greenway Summit in conjunction with the Bronx River Alliance, Brooklyn Greenway Initiative, Friends of Hudson River Park, Harlem River Park Task Force, Hunter College Center for Community Planning and Development, The Point CDC, Pratt Center for Community Development and the Southern Bronx River Watershed Alliance.

The summit will be structured as a half-day conference, with breakout sessions followed by a keynote presentation from Janette Sadik-Khan, Commissioner, New York City Department of Transportation.

The Greenway Summit is free and open to the public.
