I hope Hudson, NY is on your list. Here you have access to two towns with great art histories. Hudson is the home of Frederick Church and his house, Olana, is open to the public. On the other side of the Hudson is the village of Catskill and CedarGrove, Thomas Cole's home. (He was Church's teacher!) Catskill has an intimate Main Street with six galleries. More to see!!
