Learn the history of the West 30s, from before the planning of McKim, Mead and White's Pennsylvania Station to the present day. Significant (and often ignored) structures associated with tourism, religion, entertainment, commerce, and industry will be discussed, as well as current debates surrounding the future of Madison Square Garden, the Penn Yards, and the James A. Farley Post Office. Leader: Matt Postal, architectural historian.
