Congratulations! Talk about a city that needs liveable streets. Should provide an interesting contrast to the NYC debates (i.e., Should people use public transportation most of the time, or all of the time?).

way to go, streetsblog! A truly worthy contributor to the public conversation on issues of paramount importance. Any city worth its salt should have a information source and occasional gadfly like this. I can't wait to see Streetsblog Des Moines, Streetblog Tampa St. Pete, and Streetsblog Cheyenne!

You deserve it. This is one of the top public policy sites I've seen. Keep after the original content. The way things are going, we may not have newspaper coverage of issues like this to link to someday. It will be all national AP stories, and celeb news. And let's say the media has its own conflicts of interest. Over on The Housing Bubble Blog, people are aware of the dependence of newspapers on real estate classifieds, now that they have lost much of their other ad revenue to the web. Let's just say there is a lot of marketing in the price of the average car. (Although you don't see gasoline company ads like you did when we were kids, come to think of it. "You can trust your car to the man who wears the star," "drive your engine clean," etc.)
