Peters&#039; language was poorly chosen and the focus on bicyles as a transportation alternative is insufficient, I think it&#039;s true to say that many federally funded bike path and trail projects are not directly transportation related.  In the Boston area, for example, there are a number of suburban bike trails that run through low-density areas and do not connect major commuting destinations.  I think it&#039;s true that the vast majority of these trails&#039; users are recreational.  Other bike projects-- like bike lanes in urban areas-- would be a better use of federal transportation dollars.</description>

		<description>If you got to the dot.gov site the only options for complaining about items or commenting are for trucks, airplanes and cars.  So I guess bikes are not transportation.</description>
