It really was something. Clarence is right, it was probably the most enthusiastic and heartfelt ovation I've ever seen for a public servant. It was a beautiful day and a great ride. There must have been a good 2,000 New Yorkers out on their bicycles, including fathers with kids on the back of their bikes, hip-hop BMX riders, the Puerto Rican Bike Classics club, hipsters from Brooklyn, old ladies on reclining bikes, and everybody in between.
