Again, this is an argument easily refuted by the evidence -- but the mayor didn't do the due diligence he needed to do by directly challenging Weprin and other opponents on their turf. I wonder why Mayor Bloomberg didn't take the battle to Queens and Brooklyn, where he is well liked and where the vast majority of residents who travel into Manhattan are taking the subway (and bus) to get there. Anyone have any thoughts about this?

Instead of all this Joe six-pack working man populist mumbo jumbo double talk, why doesn't Weprin just come out and say exactly what's on his and the Baysiders minds, "Why should I ride the damn bus when I can drive to the city and park for nothin".

By the way, Weprin has been crowned the "King of Pork" for reaping the highest total of member items in the City's budget for next year, according to the Gotham Gazette. No prizes for guessing how much of the $700+K he reaped will go to the poor, transit-deprived motorists he ostensibly represents.
