		<description>9th St. is ripe for bike lanes - I use it all the time and am forced to ride out in the traffic. That works OK for me because I am a strong rider and can hold my own, but that&#039;s really inappropriate for most casual riders.

		<description>If possible, I don&#039;t think a two-way bike lane is a good idea, if the lane runs next to a street with frequent intersections.

It&#039;s better to have one-way lanes on either side of the street.  If auto traffic is one-way, then one of the lanes will be contra-flow, but that&#039;s preferable to a two-way class II bike lane.</description>
