It is not a throughway, but a neighborhood destination and should remain that way. This may not alleviate heavy traffic patterns caused by the new Nets arena, but these business along Seventh Ave have been here for decades and should take precedent. They would be undoubtedly be harmed if the street becomes a one-way arterial. Seventh Avenue is a lasting example of the American main street.
