Although it would place an additional burden on the caller, one easy way to do it would be to require the caller to make the report first, assign a unique ID number for the report, and then have a website where photographic evidence can be uploaded by persons with an ID number. Such a system could be implemented very quickly--they could buy the MyBikeLane.com template from Greg, make few adjustments, and presto!

As there are web interfaces for sending text messages, there's GOT to be some way to create an interface to send photos to phones. One would think. One is usually wrong, though. Anyway, just thinking that maybe they wouldn't have to provide a web interface - as long as they provide a way of accepting photos, there may be some way for others to create a way to send them by means other than intended.

If and when they ever implement a web interface, I will make certain that http://nyc.mybikelane.com/ auto-submits directly to their site. But, I am not holding my breath that they will do this soon. I am crossing my fingers though.

There was one promising proposal in Bloomberg's speech...its the 911/311 plan which will enable New Yorkers to send digital photos when they call these city services.

I imagine this will be useful for us bikers who are trying to clear the bike lanes of illegally parked cars, eh?
