I attended the meeting. The bicycle coordinator from DOT defended the bike lane, and he specifically stated that the bike lane will not be removed. A couple of people from the neighborhood who attended the meeting voiced concerns about increased congestion and the lack of a turn lane for automobiles on Grand Street. In addition, Noah Budnick was there representing TA, and several of us folks from the neighborhood who use the bike lane thanked DOT for installing it. Also, the members of the Transportation Committee asked Noah if TA would be willing to work with the Community Board on issues regarding enforcement of the regulations against parking in bike lanes. Naturally, Noah said that TA would be happy to work with the Community Board on this issue, so expect to here more about his in the future.
