Hmm. That ghost bikes stuff is good. I don't understand though, I live in Chicago, and bikers get a lot here. People do die on the road but it don't think it's out of proportion. Overall Chicago is a pretty bike friendly city, barring the few instances of SUV vs. Biker road rage--but hey, you can't change those people, they will always be like that.

p.s. south halsted street needs to hurry up with that construction--I've popped about 10 freakin inter tubes already =/

p.p.s. the ghost bike project is very touching. props to you guys.

[...] You didnt think this Bike Safety headline applied to SF did you? Dream on! NYs Republican Mayor Bloomberg continues to outclass SF Mayor Gavin “Nimby” Newsom. Mayor Bloomberg created a six month trial of car free space in Central Park this summer the same week that Newsom vetoed a similar six month trial in SF. In the past 3 months, Mayor Newsom has not said one single word about his plan to make up for lost time due to the injuction against the SF Bike Plan. Meanwhile, NY Mayor Bloomberg has promised 200 miles of new bike lanes. [...]

The PDF links both seem to link to the same fatalaties/injuries/suggestions report. Is there a second report detailing the infrastructure locations and stuff?

Yeah, fixing the east side greenway from its current rutted/narrow/dangerous state to something like the westside would be a huge boon...
