I'd post this comment there if she allowed comments. No individual deserves more credit for discrediting the Le Corbusier/Robert Moses generation city-sacking planners than Jane Jacobs. Imagine how the city would be if the Broome Street Expressway was built, or another mile or two of towers-in-the-parking-lots, or streets with three lanes of traffic where one would do.
