I have lived in Ft. Greene all my life just about. To see the violence and drugs in my area almost desroy it, it is very refreshing to now see the changes made over the last 15 yrs. With the Nets now coming this area will be off the hook in terms of prosperity for some and dispair for others. Unfortunate yes, but look at what the Euros did to the Native Americans here b4 them. Now it's being done back and u don't like it. How do u think they felt?

Yeah, the city really needs to get it's parking situtation under control. It perpetuates the public's view of disconnected civil service employees disrespecting the neighborhoods they work in. They should have to commute the same way we all do - train, bus, bike or walk. If they want to drive, they should pay just like the rest of us or the city should pay for garage parking nearby. It seems like a cheap giveaway the city makes which costs the rest of us in traffic, noise, dirty air and a theft of public space. They should do a top to bottom review and aim to reduce the number of permits out there by at least 50% in a year.
